We are pleased to share that Samir Cheytani of Remedial Technology has had a technical case study published in the April 2025 issue of the Australasian Corrosion Association’s journal, Corrosion & Materials (Vol 46, No. 2).
Titled “Enhancing High-Rise Longevity: The Power of Cathodic Protection,” the article explores the application of a hybrid cathodic protection approach—utilising both impressed current (ICCP) and galvanic anode systems—to address corrosion challenges in a high-rise concrete structure.
The case study focuses on a retrofit project designed to mitigate reinforcement corrosion while accounting for the specific performance, maintenance, and access requirements of the building. Key highlights from the article include:
A comprehensive assessment of corrosion risks and structural condition
Strategic implementation of ICCP and galvanic anode systems for targeted protection
Integration of remote monitoring capabilities for ongoing performance management
Significant improvements in durability and corrosion control outcomes
Samir’s work illustrates how tailored CP system design—combined with modern monitoring technologies—can deliver effective, long-term protection for complex building assets.
We congratulate Samir on this important contribution to the field of corrosion mitigation and structural asset preservation.
