Research and Development takes a central role in Remedial Technology’s advancements in the field of corrosion engineering. 

Since the company’s inception in 2013, we have devoted significant time and resources to our Research and Development activities. This has helped us expand our knowledge base, eliminate any potential risks associated with our company’s services to our clients, and establish Remedial Technology as a trusted service provider and industry leader in all aspects related to the corrosion protection of reinforced concrete structures and cathodic protection maintenance services.

 

The most recent areas of Research and Development have been focused on:

Cathodic Protection Management System (CMPS)

CPMS is a state-of-the-art online management tool for the monitoring and maintenance of Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems and Sacrificial Anode Cathodic Protection (SACP) systems.

MicroNex Systems

The operation of ICCP systems requires reliable, heavy duty and simple to operate control systems which have additional independent functions to perform functional remote checks of operating current and voltage, and independent capabilities for remote monitoring and system adjustment.

 

One of the main activities of Remedial Technology is monitoring and maintenance of ICCP systems. MicroNex systems were developed by the R&D division of Remedial Technology to enhance the functionality of our Cathodic Protection Management System services. MicroNex Systems  offer the first global non-proprietary open-source software control system for new cathodic protection applications.

Material Testing

Some of the recent major R&D projects of Remedial Technology include:

  • Research into the prevention of grout acidification for impressed current cathodic protection systems in tidal and splash zones. 

  • Research and testing related to concrete resistivity of polymer modified repair mortars and the impact of resistivity on the performance of electrochemical protection systems.
